Okay, so I know a LOT of my images lately have been from the zoo; it’s my other job. But honestly, who could resist 3-month-old jaguar cubs? The exhibit is glass-fronted, so shooting through it isn’t impossible, but it can be challenging at times. This exhibit is EXTREMELY dark, and if I want to avoid the crowds, I have to get there early in the morning – before the park opens and my shift starts – when it’s REALLY dark. Some post-processing is necessary to compensate for high ISOs and deliberate under-exposing, which are themselves necessary to minimize motion-blur. This particular day, the cubs and mom were out unusually early, and when I got there, this cub was on the log over their pond.
